A udiolab Omnia is a revolutionary, all-encompassing audio solution.
Blurring the lines that typically separate hi-fi from lifestyle, Omnia brings all the pedigree that helps make Audiolab electronics the connoisseur's choice.
However, the indulgence in design, material aesthetics and usability mean that it has all the features to make it a stylish, comfortable and easy-to-use centrepiece for an uncompromising home audio system.
The A udiolab Omnia retains A udiolab’s award-winning and instantly recognisable design cues ; simple yet striking in appearance, the curved brushed aluminium chassis is “typical A udiolab” but has evolved to suit the modern living environment.
Omnia is attractive yet unobtrusive, offering the perfect balance for both living rooms and listening rooms.
In a world where music is more available than ever and sources more varied than ever, Omnia doesn’t discriminate.
However you listen to your music, Omnia has you covered.
To summarize, the A udiolab Omnia is a CD player, integrated amplifier, wireless streamer, DAC, headphone amplifier and preamplifier - in one unit!
Equipped with a high-performance CD player, the A udiolab Omnia stands out in the
kind of "all-in-one" systems.
Extremely robust and reliable; the Omnia CD drive is based on the class-leading CD 6000CDT transport mechanism with a digital read-ahead buffer to reduce disc read errors.
Such is the performance of this CD mechanism, Omnia is able to play scratched and damaged CDs that are unreadable by conventional mechanisms.
Along with the CD section, Omnia offers a series of connectivity options for traditional audio sources: optical, digital and stereo RCA inputs will satisfy
the broader system integration requirements.
Utilizing high quality analog preamp circuitry similar to the acclaimed udiolab 6000 Series A , coupled with line level RCA inputs for connecting analog sources, the preamp circuitry is kept as simple as possible. Utilizing high quality components to maintain signal purity, with line input signals passing to a precision analog volume stage, the Omnia is an exceptional preamp in its own right.
A dedicated MM phono input means a turntable can be connected directly to the Omnia via a high-quality, low-noise phono stage with precise RIAA equalisation.
This phono stage continues the evolution of the award-winning 6000 Series, designed to get the most out of the music captured in the grooves of an LP.
For network audio playback, the A udiolab Omnia features an Ethernet port, which lends itself to a wired connection and the increased bandwidth requirements of high-resolution digital audio.
For the most convenient access to wireless music playback, Omnia features high-quality, low-latency Bluetooth connectivity, with the Bluetooth aptX standard.
Omnia Wi-Fi is powered by DTS Play-Fi: an app-controlled platform that enables high-quality wireless audio throughout your home, capable of streaming high-resolution music up to 24-bit/192kHz and supported by the widest range of established audio brands of any wireless platform.
The USB DAC section promotes Audiolab's award-winning pedigree
Based on the new SABRE32 ES9038Q2M reference DAC, it performs the D/A conversion, using ESS Technology’s 32-bit HyperStream II architecture and Time Domain Jitter Eliminator to deliver ultra-low noise and high dynamic range. No company knows how to make the most of this excellent but demanding DAC technology more than Audiolab; the acclaimed M-DAC was one of the first home audio components to incorporate an ESS chip back in 2011, and the company has been refining its implementation ever since.
At udiolab Omnia will decode MQA (Master Quality Authenticated)
from USB, SPDIF and Play-Fi.
The brainchild of Meridian Audio co-founder Bob Stuart,
MQA is a digital audio format designed for streaming high-resolution music, and is available via subscription at Tidal's "HiFi" tier (among other sources). Omnia decompresses the MQA data - received via the USB input - to the full resolution of the original file and passes the signal through its DAC and preamp stages.
In addition, the A udiolab Omnia is also Roon tested, thus opening up the world of Roon.
Roon's fundamental goal is to provide a consistently amazing user experience.
This goal doesn't stop with software... the experience extends all the way to audio playback hardware, regardless of manufacturer.
As a Roon Tested Partner, audiolab has provided Roon with equipment for testing with a variety of different operating systems and computers, and has shared information about its design and capabilities.
We have a direct relationship with Roon and in many cases, the Roon support team has our devices on hand, so you can confidently choose to use audiolab hardware with Roon.
Powering your speakers becomes a breeze with no hassle in terms of
configuration.
Simply connect your passive speakers to the A udiolab Omnia and you have access to a world of audio sources with flawless reproduction. The discrete Class AB power amplifier stage delivers 50W per channel into 8 ohms, with a maximum current delivery of 9 Amps, into difficult loads. The output stage of the discrete power amplifier circuits uses a CFB (Complementary Feedback) topology, ensuring superior linearity and excellent thermal stability, as the quiescent current is kept independent of the temperature of the output transistors. A substantial 200VA toroidal transformer, followed by 4x15,000uF reservoir capacitance (60,000uF in total), helps the amplifier maintain firm control of the music whilst allowing excellent dynamic range. More than a class leader, the Omnia is a champion in terms of amplifier performance!
For those who use headphones, in addition to the speakers, it incorporates a dedicated headphone amplifier with current feedback circuitry.
Its wide gain bandwidth and high slew rate ensure dynamic, detailed and immersive performance with all types of headphone types – more boxes ticked than the most all-in-one system of them all.
Firmly positioning itself as a highly usable piece of high-tech equipment,
The A udiolab Omnia uses a color TFT display, a simplified general user interface
and graphical integration with your music source and playback formats.
The A udiolab Omnia display also uses a brand new protocol for a real-time VU meter display, adding a touch of finesse to the very functional and equally beautiful display interface.
All this versatility would be worth little if it came at the expense of true hi-fi sound quality.
True to its roots, A udiolab has refused to compromise on performance drawing on the sonic know-how that has earned widespread recognition over the years.
