Premiere in Monaco HIGH END 2019
Lyravox presents the new “Pure” models of the KARL family, active loudspeakers with analogue and digital inputs.
With the "Pure" versions, Lyravox presents new variants of the active speaker systems KARL, KARLOTTA, KARLINA and KARLOS that focus on the essentials. They feature Accuton ceramic drivers with multi-channel direct amplification, high-resolution DSP, premium audio interfaces and fourth-generation Class-D power amplifiers.
This unique configuration makes them the perfect companions for high-end analog or digital sources, creating superb-sounding, lossless systems with room correction functionality included.
Pure stands for audiophile purism
The new "Pure" speaker models do without the integrated streamer and are specifically designed for use as uncompromising audiophile active speakers.
This includes additional, higher-quality external inputs such as professional standards AES (digital) and XLR/balanced (analog).
These are considered the best audio interface standards in terms of sound and functionality.
The five switchable inputs feature automatic source selection (“Auto Detect”), and the speakers automatically turn on when a source signal is detected and turn off when inactive.
This means that they can be used just like an integrated system even with external sources.
The DSP, converter and power amplifiers are of the latest generation and provide further improved sound performance for the entire KARL series. As a result, the Pure models are aimed at the most demanding audiophiles who expect the highest sound quality as well as flexibility in the choice of audio sources.
This explicitly extends to analog sources. Another important part of the concept is matching the system to the room, which Lyravox recognizes as essential for the best listening experience.
In accordance with high quality standards, this is not done by an automatic algorithm but through a combination of professional measurements and careful listening, tailored to the individual preferences of each customer.
The future of audiophile is active, the speaker becomes the key component
With the Pure series, Lyravox sets an example for audiophiles for the upcoming breakthrough of active loudspeakers in the hi-fi scene.
As an audio developer with over 30 years of experience in the development of passive loudspeakers, Lyravox has been convinced since 2013: With the recent rapid improvements in DSP and Class D amplification, the best possible sound today can only be achieved using active loudspeaker concepts, no matter the price range.
Using these components, loudspeakers, the most important part of the audio chain, can be realized for the first time as a lossless, integrated and perfectly matched symbiosis of mechanics, acoustics, signal processing and electrical amplification.
With the ability to be tailored to the room, they offer another previously missing piece of the puzzle.
High-quality speaker drivers are the foundation of exceptional sound.
According to the company's philosophy, the starting point for every Lyravox project is the best available speaker chassis, in line with the credo: "No electronics can reproduce what the drivers are not mechanically capable of reproducing." speaker drivers for each model, primarily ceramic drivers built by German premium manufacturer Accuton.
They are the only speakers in the world with membranes made entirely of ceramic.
Jens Wietschorke, Head of Development at Lyravox, notes: “Although ceramic drivers are difficult to master passively, they offer unparalleled sonic potential when used in modern active loudspeakers.
This is not only true when it comes to sound quality under standard conditions, but especially when it comes to the ability to compensate for typical deficiencies in the listening environment. That is why we are very grateful for the close cooperation with Accuton.”
