ATC P1 is the power amplifier in Dual Mono configuration from the English brand, capable of 1.50 W into 8 ohms per channel, ideal for driving the passive speakers of the Entry Series . It boasts high-quality analog inputs : balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA for connection to any preamplifier .

The amplifiers incorporate the same gain reduction and speaker protection circuitry used in ATC's active monitors. This ensures that even at very high levels, the amplifier is kept from clipping, thus improving subjective performance and protecting the speakers from damage.

The retro style makes it a piece of great design while the compact size makes it easy to place in any home space.

The entire design is curated by founder Billy Woodman and is inspired by the look of professional electronics from the 50s and 60s reinterpreted in a more modern key.

The cabinet features a solid chassis with a massive 12mm thick finely machined titanium anodized aluminum front panel and a solid top panel  with air vents to help cool the internal components. The power button is located on the rear panel but integrates the Standby function to activate the product directly from the IR remote control, supplied inside the package.

Power Made in ATC

ATC uses an amplification system derived from the modules built into the brand's active speaker line and features a true Dual Mono configuration design, meaning it keeps the power, signal and return paths separate.

This approach ensures that the amplifier achieves maximum signal separation with minimal crosstalk (i.e. negligible interference between the two channels).

Furthermore, intermodulation between channels via the power supplies is reduced to an absolute minimum across the entire operating frequency range, and power delivery from one channel does not affect the specified power available from the other channel.

The Class A/B output stage is capable of delivering 150W per channel into 8 ohms , thanks to two generous 300VA low-noise transformers and a pair of MOSFETs per channel.

The company's goals in amplifier design are primarily: extremely wide bandwidth (in the interest of minimal phase shift within the audio band), very low distortion and noise, and excellent reliability.

These goals are achieved through ATC's proprietary Grounded Source output design, the use of MOSFETs as output devices, and a parallel FET limiter (parallel circuit), which has no effect on the audio circuitry until the threshold voltage is exceeded. The FET limiter protects the amplifier, speakers, and listeners from the effects of overload distortion.

As with professional audio applications, ATC recommends using the P1 via its balanced inputs. When using balanced inputs for common-mode noise reduction, the speaker is perfectly balanced relative to ground. In practice, further improvements are evident in the elimination of low-frequency modulation, thanks to a superior power supply layout, a reduction in the temperature cycle of the output devices, and a cleaner signal ground.

Like all the brand's electronics and speakers, it is assembled by hand at the Stroud headquarters, guaranteeing extraordinary construction care also thanks to the meticulous tests to which all products are subjected.

There are two pairs of 4mm connectors for connecting a single pair of speakers via banana plugs or spades: the binding posts are proprietary and of high quality.
