The ATC P2 is the English brand's Class A/B Dual Mono power amplifier , capable of 300 W into 8 ohms per channel, ideal for driving the passive speakers of the Classic Series , but can be used for any speaker, even large ones, and for rooms with generous dimensions. It boasts high-quality analog inputs : balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA for connection to any preamplifier .

The P2 amplifier is designed in Dual Mono configuration, delivering 300W into an 8 ohm load in Class AB . This specification offers considerable power reserves accompanied by remarkable control and authority, making it an ideal choice for large rooms and the perfect companion to the passive models of the Classic Series .

These amplifiers share the same gain reduction and speaker protection circuitry found in ATC's active monitors. This feature ensures that, even when operating at very high volume levels, the amplifier prevents clipping, thus significantly improving sound quality and protecting the speakers from damage.

Design-wise, it features a sturdy metal chassis with a massive 12mm-thick titanium-anodized aluminum front panel and a top panel with ventilation holes to aid cooling of the internal components. The power button is located on the rear panel, but it also features a standby function, which allows the product to be activated directly via the included IR remote control.

For thermal management reasons, it is always advisable to place the power amplifier above the preamplifier, so as to ensure better heat dispersion and not compromise audio quality.

Power Made in ATC

ATC employs an advanced amplification system that adopts a Dual Mono configuration, meaning it keeps the power, signal, and return paths separate. This methodology ensures that the amplifier achieves maximum signal separation while minimizing crosstalk, or interference between the two channels.

Additionally, intermodulation between channels across the power supplies is minimized at all operating frequencies, without the power supplied by one channel affecting the specified power available in the other channel.

The Class A/B output stage is capable of delivering 300W per channel into an 8 ohm load , thanks to two generous 400VA low-noise transformers and a pair of MOSFETs for each channel .

No compromise: High-performance power supplies and large heat sinks ensure outstanding stability and long-term reliability.

ATC's main goals in amplification design are: extremely wide bandwidth (to minimize phase shifts across the entire audio band), low distortion, low noise, and excellent reliability.

These goals are achieved through the use of ATC's proprietary Grounded Source output design, the use of MOSFETs as output devices, and the adoption of a parallel FET limiter that does not affect the audio circuitry until the threshold voltage is exceeded. This limiter protects the amplifier, speakers, and listeners from the potential effects of overload distortion.
