ATC SCM150 – Classic Series Floorstanding Speakers

ATC SCM150 are the 3-way floorstanding speakers with stand of the Classic Series , available in the active SCM150 ASL and passive SCM150 SL versions , with Lacquered or Satin finish on Standard Wood, Premium Wood, White or Black.

The 25mm soft dome tweeter benefits from a unique doped polyester double suspension design, which adds a secondary suspension to ensure greater linearity and suppress unwanted oscillation modes, promoting greater control.

The monitors' ability to reproduce music and speech with phenomenal transparency, detail and dynamics lies primarily in the 75mm soft dome midrange .

The performance of the 375mm woofer with a large 75mm voice coil and a powerful short-coil motor is equally impressive. This driver features ATC's SL – Super Linear – technology, which dramatically reduces distortion typical of voice coil drivers by 12-15dB (third harmonic).

In the passive version – the SCM150 SL – the second-order crossover uses oversized air chokes to handle two crossover points at 380 Hz and 3.5 kHz.

In the active version – the SCM150 ASL – the analog crossover is active and consists of an electronically balanced input stage, characterized by a high bandwidth and very high common-mode rejection. Connection is via XLR only, as befits a speaker originating from the world of studios.

Design

Derived from the recording studio range , the ATC SCM150 speakers have been developed to deliver an accurate and natural sound , without any coloration or distortion. This makes them ideal for the faithful reproduction of any type of music, from classical to rock, jazz, pop and much more.

Thanks to advanced design technologies, the SCM150 speakers are capable of reproducing extremely precise and detailed sound, with an extremely wide frequency response and large power handling capacity.

The cabinet is massive, solid and inert , and integrates bitumen damping placed at critical points to minimize cabinet response. Various finishes are available, rigorously handcrafted : from real wood finishes such as Cherry, Walnut and Black Aah or satin Black or White; to premium versions such as Rosewood, European Crown Cut Walnut, Burr Walnut, Pippy Oak, Burr Magnolia, Burr Poplar. The gloss finishes Clear High Glossed Veneer, Piano Black, Piano White are available upon request.

The speakers are supplied with 20cm stands and fabric-covered grilles .
