Audioquest Rocket 22 - Pair of Speaker Cables - Terminated
An audibly improved step up from the Rocket 11, the Rocket 22 is an ideal Full-Range or Single-BiWire cable. Single-BiWire allows for optimum performance when your speakers have both Bass and Treble inputs. BiWiring reduces distortion in the cable: taking the big bass energy out of the cable carrying the delicate treble is like taking the waves out of the water when you (the treble) are trying to swim.
The magnetic autonomy of the Rocket 22’s separate halves maximizes the BiWire advantage. Semi-solid concentric conductors are a far superior performing alternative to typical stranded conductors. Semi-solid concentric conductors use fewer, larger strands that do not change position along the length of the cable.
The strands maintain their fixed and rigid relationships, reducing distortion, improving resolution and dynamics, and greatly reducing harshness and confusion due to strand interaction. Perfect Surface Copper / Long Grain Copper: LGC has fewer oxides within the conductor material, fewer impurities, and fewer grain boundaries than standard OFHC copper.
LGCs are used for the Rocket 22 conductors located in the central area of the semi-solid concentric conductor bundle. PSC, with its surprisingly smooth surface, is used for the outer layer of conductors in the Rocket 22 semi-solid concentric conductor bundle.
It is this outer layer of conductors that has the greatest effect on the clarity and smoothness of the Rocket 22. Careful application of PSC and LGC allows a performance closer to using the more expensive PSC alone, while gaining the cost advantage of the superb LGC. Dual Low Inductance Geometry: A “normal” speaker cable has quite a high inductance, spreading energy over time and making the sound dull and fuzzy.
The two conductors in each half of the Rocket 22 provide lower inductance, greater clarity, and superior bass-to-treble frequency extension. The Rocket 22 is pre-wired with SureGrip 300 spades or bananas. These connectors feature Direct-Silver over copper with no nickel layers in between.
