Modern technology
For the completely redesigned housings of the Reference series, round baffles were designed for the first time and produced on a specially designed 5-axis CNC milling machine. The elaborately curved side walls, bottoms and covers ensure enormous stability and significantly reduced natural resonance behavior of the loudspeaker housing. As a result, the Reference 5 offers a very homogeneous radiation pattern and authentic gradation of the music. The Reference 5 loudspeakers are equipped with two 174 mm BCT woofers equipped with black ceramic tungsten cones. These work in perfect harmony with the large cabinet volume and the efficient bass guide system to deliver clear bass tones and rich, deep bass. The BCT midrange driver of the same size, housed in its own housing, helps to create a natural, authentic sound with a finely resolved midrange. The sound spectrum is completed by the 25 mm BC tweeter with black aluminum oxide ceramic membrane, which guarantees detailed and homogeneous highs.

New membranes
The mid- and bass systems of all Reference loudspeakers are characterized by their advanced BCT membranes. With the BCT membrane, 25% of the molecular structure of an aluminum cone is converted into a ceramic structure and refined with tungsten and additional metal particles. As a result, the membranes achieve a perfect ratio of stiffness to weight and turn black on the front and back during the manufacturing process. In addition, the specially shaped black ceramic mid-range cone in TCC technology stabilizes the membrane and reduces unwanted resonances. This allows us to achieve precise and distortion-free reproduction. To optimize the sound, the Reference 5 uses our latest-generation wave surround technology. This ensures uniform attack and decay behavior even at high volumes and large membrane deflections.

The Reference 5 speakers are equipped with high-quality WBT nextgen™ connections and allow bi-wiring and bi-amping. These connections are the basis for excellent sound quality and offer long-term stable contact. If you do not want to use bi-wiring or bi-amping, high-quality hard gold-plated copper bridges are included. The Reference 5 features controls for Canton's RC (Room Compensation) technology on the speaker terminal. With this level adjustment, the sound pressure levels of the midrange and tweeters can be precisely adjusted in 1.5 decibel increments. This allows the speakers to be optimally adapted to personal listening taste and room acoustics.

Noble appearance
The Reference 5 speaker housings impress with their top-quality workmanship and elegant surfaces, which allow for perfect visual integration into any living environment. They are available in two versions: The high-gloss piano black lacquer version achieves an impressive depth effect thanks to the high number of twelve lacquer layers. Equally impressive is the silky matt finish of the white housing version, which gives your living spaces a discreetly elegant and noble look.
