This small home DAC is designed to bring the benefits of Chord Electronics digital technology to a wide range of analog devices already in the audio chain. Featuring USB-B, RCA optical coaxial, and galvanically isolated coaxial digital inputs , Qutest brings an instant performance upgrade to your home audio system, as well as the ability to revitalize entire aging analog systems.
Chord's desktop DAC features RCA analog outputs for connection to integrated amplifiers without DACs or with low-level DACs, preamplifiers, and headphone amplifiers. Qutest also features dual high-resolution digital data inputs for connection to future Chord Electronics products. The input selection controls are directly derived from the proprietary ones developed for Hugo 2: two perfect spheres mounted on the front of the DAC for maximum flexibility and convenience.
One of the unique features of the DAC is the ability to select a user-customizable output voltage of 1, 2 and 3V RMS for flexible connectivity with a wide range of pairing devices.
Qutest allows you to select four equalizer presets that best adapt to your personal listening tastes and any harshness in your input files. The filters, in particular, allow you to add a subtle warmth to your music or filter out any excessive high-frequency graininess.
Designed for anyone who wants to hear the full audio spectrum, regardless of sampling rate, this option has an ultra-linear frequency response. For those who crunch numbers, we're talking about a WTA2 filter with a range of 16FS to 256FS.
Designed for enthusiasts who play high-sampling-rate PCM files, this option has a
ultra-linear frequency response with a high-frequency filter above 20KHz to remove high-frequency distortion and noise. This includes a WTA2 filter from 16FS to 256FS.
This preset is designed to add a subtle sense of warmth to recordings. This filter is a pure 16FS WTA1.
Designed to add warmth to recordings, this filter is ideal for high-resolution PCM files. This is a 16FS filter with a high-frequency roll-off.
