Chord ULTIMA 5 is the stereo power amplifier of the Choral 6.0 series by Chord Electronics – 350W on 8 Ohm per channel. Made of aircraft-grade aluminum machined from solid, with error correction technology, enormous current control and the musicality you expect at this level from the English company.
Chord Electronics ULTIMA 5 is a stereo power amplifier featuring high power and extreme refinement, perfect for High Fidelity installations. Thanks to the use of custom components and over three decades of patents, the amplification stages of the Maidstone company are now legendary. In particular they are famous for their ability to react instantly to every musical transient providing very high power, while maintaining high transparency and incredibly low distortion.
ULTIMA 5, like the more powerful “6” model, is based on the most advanced design from Chord Electronics and offers a full 350 W of power, enough to drive any speaker on the market. The model, thanks to the use of 32 custom MOSFETs, offers an absolutely lightning-fast response, with surprising dynamics and timing.
All the amplifiers in the series, both mono and stereo, have been designed for the best HiFi and High End systems and are the maximum expression of English audio amplification technology: ultra fast, clean, high power.
The ULTIMA 5, note, uses the most advanced and refined drive circuitry known to date to drive the 32 proprietary MOSFETs. The end result is a high voltage, ultra-low distortion amplifier, capable of driving with grace and authority – with 350W x 2 into 8 Ohms – any type of HiFi speaker.
Refined technologies
The MOSFETs used by Chord Electronics are continuously monitored by error correction circuits in the output stage. They also benefit from fully balanced and temperature compensated input sections.
Finishes of your choice
Precision machined from a solid block of aircraft-grade aluminum, the Chord ULTIMA 6 is an amplifier and a work of art in itself. Available in two finishes, black and silver, the ULTIMA is also available with black or silver side legs or black acrylic blocks.
Top-notch design and details
The amplifier chassis is constructed from solid aircraft-grade aluminum, providing a completely non-resonant structure for the electronics. It features an updated aesthetic and a 28mm thick front panel, the latest design from John Franks.
A polychromatic spherical element, characteristic of Chord, acts as a power button and operating indicator. A discreet and hidden switch allows you to adjust the lighting.
