Emit 20 is a high-performance standmount speaker derived from Dynaudio’s Evoke, Contour i and Confidence series. It offers a stellar combination of detail and punch for small to medium-sized rooms.

We don’t use the term “true fidelity” lightly. With the Emit 20, that’s exactly what you’ll get: a premium audiophile speaker that blows away the price. It may be an “entry-level” model, but the Emit 20 is still packed with technology you’ll find in our other families, all the way up to our flagship Confidence range and our Core professional reference monitors. Make no mistake: you’ll experience performance you simply wouldn’t expect at this level.

MSP Woofers
Emit 20 uses an 18cm MSP (Magnesium Silicate Polymer) woofer, based on the one we used in the Evoke series. MSP is a material we developed in-house and have used for many years on our most popular models. The cone itself is a one-piece design; the dustcap is moulded as part of the playing surface, giving it a solid connection with the voice coil that moves it back and forth. You’ll feel that connection as supreme control and detail in the low and mid frequencies.

The voice coil itself is aluminum, wound on a double layer fiberglass former. We have a long history of using aluminum wire in our voice coils, and for good reason. It is lightweight, so it doesn't impede fine motion, and we can get more turns on the first for a given length of wire. That means more "BL," or magnetic power. More power means more power. We've taken this one a step further by coating the aluminum wire in copper.

Combined with the stacked ferrite magnet system and new surround, this gives the Emit 20’s long-throw mid/bass driver all the bass power you could want, even at high volumes, combined with extraordinary control over the midrange frequencies (where instruments like guitars, vocals and violins reside).

Tweeter Cerotar
Emit uses the highly regarded Cerotar tweeter from the Dynaudio Evoke series. It is a high-quality high-frequency driver and includes the innovative Hexis internal dome that defeats resonance.
