The Emit 50 is a great floorstanding speaker for listening to music and movies. Its twin 18cm woofers, 15cm midrange driver and 28mm Cerotar soft dome tweeter are each dedicated to producing the clearest possible performance, at true cinema-level volume.

The details: The Emit 50’s woofers dig deep. The two 18cm units (the same type used in the Emit 20) use cascading technology from Dynaudio’s high-end Evoke, Contour i and Confidence speakers to deliver astonishing low-frequency performance, well above the previous Emit range.

It means the speaker can dig really deep into the bass (-3dB at 33Hz, which is on par with the Contour 60i and Confidence 60, if you like numbers), but allows you to keep the cabinet to a size that still fits in your living room.

MSP Cones
The one-piece cones are made from Dynaudio’s in-house formulated MSP (Magnesium Silicate Polymer) material, complete with an integrated dust cap. Crafting the drivers from one piece of material, rather than gluing them to a separate piece, gives the playing surface a much better connection with the voice coil behind it. And that means better control over their movement: less distortion and unwanted resonances, and finer detail, even in the lowest notes.

Unlike other speakers in the series, the Emit 50’s woofers use copper voice coils. This is because they don’t need to be as lively as they would when also handling mid-range duties (like on the Emit 20). So, heavier copper has been used for a more direct punch. This is amplified by the double-stacked magnet system, which is optimised to direct its energy directly into the voice coil.

Tweeter Cerotar
Emit uses the highly regarded Cerotar tweeter from the Dynaudio Evoke series. It is a high-quality high-frequency driver and includes the innovative Hexis internal dome that defeats resonance.
