Evoke 25C’s two 14cm Esotec+ mid/bass drivers are crafted from MSP (Magnesium Silicate Polymer), a material we’ve been using for our woofer diaphragms since Dynaudio’s early days. It provides exactly the right combination of lightness, stiffness and damping to balance the need for precise bass performance with a clear, detailed midrange.

Each speaker cone is made from a single piece of MSP. This gives them just the right amount of rigidity and means much less physical distortion when playing. It also provides a super solid physical connection to the glass fiber voice coil former on the back (it's glued directly under the Balance Ribs you'll see around the center), meaning more of the voice coil's moving energy is transferred to the diaphragm.

The 38mm voice coils themselves are made of aluminium, which makes them extremely light. This means we can use more windings. More windings give us more control over the cone's movement, which means more control over the sound, even at high volumes and high frequencies. This is especially important in a centre speaker, which is mainly concerned with speech: its midrange performance must be absolutely top-notch.

The woofer motor is kept stable, centered, and aligned by the Nomex spider (the circular spring assembly that stops the cone from moving when it shouldn’t and lets it move when it should), while the Contour-derived surround allows for a longer throw ratio for more punch. And, like the Cerotar tweeter, the woofers are both driven by Ferrite+ ceramic magnets for greater control, finesse, and power.
