The Special Forty Anniversary loudspeaker draws on 40 years of cutting-edge research and brings it up to date with Dynaudio’s most celebrated techniques and technologies.

The Special Forty uses Dynaudio’s MSP (Magnesium Silicate Polymer) material as its primary driver. MSP offers just the right combination of stiffness, damping, and stability for the most faithful sound reproduction. And unlike other cone materials, it doesn’t change over time, so your Special Forty speakers will continue to sing just as sweetly.

The cone itself uses a carefully developed symmetrical excursion for even better midrange performance. Behind it is the asymmetrical Dynaudio spider, the passive harmonic rectifier.

It minimizes upper harmonics to further strengthen the performance and make it possible to choose not only individual parts in a piece of music, but also individual instruments in an orchestra.

And like all Dynaudio MSP drivers, it’s a one-piece unit (you can tell by the special balancing ribs around the central dustcap). This gives it an incredibly solid connection to the voice coil, as well as stabilizing its shape, which is essential when you decide to turn it up to 11.

It all sits in Dynaudio's special AirFlow basket, the tip that holds the entire driver motor securely in place in the cabinet.

The new Esotar Forty tweeter takes air movement to another level. It moves air in a typically gentle way in front of the DSR (Dynaudio Secret Recipe) precision-coated soft dome, of course, but there's also a lot of engineering behind it.
