Features of the XX-2A Phonograph Head
Alnico magnet and magnetic flux damping
By integrating low-resistance Alnico magnets into the magnetic circuit, the XX-2A phono cartridge ensures minimal magnetic force fluctuation during record playback. Compared to conventional high-energy rare-earth magnets such as samarium-cobalt and neodymium-boron, Alnico magnets contribute to a high signal-to-noise (S/N) ratio and excellent transient response. Additionally, patented magnetic flux damping technology stabilizes the magnetic flux within the air gap, ensuring consistent performance similar to that of higher-end models.
High rigidity magnetic circuit
Crafted with stainless steel bolts that secure the front and back plates to the magnets, the XX-2A phono cartridge boasts a highly rigid magnetic circuit. Experienced craftsmen meticulously adjust the tightening torque during assembly, a critical process for maintaining sound quality and ensuring optimal performance from each unit.
Low output MC cartridge
With an output voltage of 0.28 mV, the XX-2A conforms to general requirements for MC cartridges, making it compatible with various amplifiers and transformers, including the SUP-200. With a recommended load impedance of over 30 ohms, ensuring suitability for various load settings, including 47 kΩ (phono stage input).
Compliance
With a 10mm/N compliance and a weight of 8.9g, the XX-2A phono cartridge is compatible with a wide range of tonearms, from lightweight to medium-mass. We recommend using a lightweight headshell for optimal performance.
Solid boron cantilever
The XX-2A cartridge features a 6mm-long solid boron cantilever, paired with a linear contact PathFinder (PF) stylus, creating a lightweight and rigid vibration system for greater reproduction accuracy.
