Introducing the most versatile high-performance multi-channel amplifiers on the market: the Hegel C5 series. The C5 is available in 3 different versions, tailored to your needs. You can choose to have it as a 3-channel, 4-channel or 5-channel configuration. This means you can build a 5.1 or Atmos theater using one or more C5s. Maybe you want to bi-amp speakers or use active crossovers? You can also use it to power multiple speakers in a mastering studio, restaurant or at home. In short, wherever you need high-performance sound with dynamics and ultra-low distortion.
As flexible as it is, the C5 amplifier series still maintains the full Hegel Sound. The C5 uses the patented SoundEngine2 technology with its many advantages. One of them is the ability to operate in low bias, which means that the high-powered class A/B amplifier does not operate at normal temperatures, allowing it to be installed in a 19” rack. Another advantage of the SoundEngine2 is the high damping factor (more than 2000). Higher damping factor means deep, deep bass and complete control of the bass drivers. It is one of the reasons why people talk about the dynamic Hegel sound. But most importantly, it is its low distortion. Hegel’s patented SoundEngine2 amplifiers work almost like a noise-cancelling headphone. All distortion elements created within the amplifier circuits are dynamically cancelled out, being reproduced in negative phase. So no matter how you choose to set it up, the C5 series will deliver a spectacular soundstage. Never harsh or unpleasant. Always natural, fluid and with incredible dynamics.
Versatility goes beyond the number of audio channels and modes of use. The ability to individually change phase for each channel or select between different gain settings for each channel makes it much easier to integrate into a larger system. Trigger input and output (allows daisy chaining) means you can place it in a separate room and never worry about switching it on or off. The C55 is 3u tall, with massive rack-mounted ears that are an integral part of the amplifier shell. If rack-mounted, 1u spacing is recommended top and bottom. There are also adjustable and removable rear mounting ears. If you don’t choose to rack-mount, feet are provided in the accessory box. This means the C5 Series can adapt to any application.
