The SUSVARA earcups have been specially molded into a unique shape that follows the contours of the human ear. Likewise, the chamfered earpads conform to your head for added comfort. Small holes in the leather band help dissipate heat, while its lightness does not add to the overall weight of the entire headset, which is surprisingly low – the SUSVARA weighs just 450 grams.

In traditional magnetic designs, magnets obstruct the sound waves and create both additive and subtractive interference through diffraction. Since these points alter differently as the frequency changes, a distorted set of sound waves occurs. With the use of SUSVARA's "Invisible Magnets", the sound waves are reproduced as if the necessary magnets were not there, degrading the purity of the sound. The inspiration for this technology comes from military jets such as the famous F-117 Nighthawk. Radio waves pass over the surface of the plane, making it virtually invisible to radar. HiFiMAN applied this idea to magnets, allowing sound to flow over the magnets without impediment.
