MAXIMUM SOUND EXPERIENCE
KARLSSON TOWER is the combination of the KARLSSON MONOLITH monitor and
its KARLSSON SUB bass extension. This expansion extends the unprecedented performance of KARLSSON to larger spaces, higher dynamics and a wider soundstage. The most complex ceramic sound transducers ever built, together with the acoustically optimal solid stone housings of the KARLSSON TOWER, offer technical requirements that no other loudspeaker in this size class has ever met. Thanks to lossless active DSP technology with multiple direct-drive power amplifiers and integrated adaptability to room acoustics, this potential can be converted into breathtaking sound performance, unhindered by passive crossovers or disruptive room influences. These cover all aspects of sound quality, regardless of the music genre.
THE IDEAL STRUCTURE: MADE OF SOLID STONE
In addition to perfect electrical and mechanical components, the key to completely pure sound conversion is the housing made of heavy, acoustically "dead" materials. With the Monolith series, Lyravox introduces a solid stone housing made of K-Material, an acoustically optimized technical artificial stone. Its sound transmission attenuation is 30 times that of concrete, with only a slightly lower density. The surfaces are available in finely ground or hand-polished finish, in pure white or deep black. A case for eternity.
SUPERLATIVE ELECTROMECHANICS
The KARLSSON design was only made possible by a completely new type of sound transducer, developed by ceramic membrane pioneer Accuton® at the suggestion of Lyravox. Unlike conventional ceramic mid-bass drivers, the Pulheim specialist's Cell® series C-168-890 is an oversized inverted dome with a gigantic 114 mm voice coil, which would normally be found in a speaker driver twelve times larger. Realism that was not possible before. In combination with the same tweeter (available in ceramic and
Diamond) also creates a previously unknown acoustic homogeneity in multi-way loudspeakers. Finally, the new AS190 piston bass drivers of the KARLSSON SUB, thanks to their design - especially in the context of direct drive and the stone housing - enable acoustic performance that cannot be achieved with classic cone drivers. The bass impulses explode smoothly and flawlessly, regardless of the volume level.
DIFFUSE FIELD EXPANSION
An additional AMT super tweeter is used in the upper part of the housing
the generation of a so-called high-frequency expanded diffuse field (indirect sound in the room). This corresponds to the real musical event, where the sound is distributed around the instruments throughout the room and not directional towards the listener (as with conventional loudspeakers).
