Perfect creation
The all-new M Series marks a milestone for Matrix Audio in its move toward mainstream Hi-Fi systems. This series includes the MS-1 music streamer, MP-1 preamplifier, and MA-1 power amplifier, forming a complete flagship system from Matrix Audio that showcases our understanding of Hi-Fi audio. The M Series is the first line to adopt the new Matrix Design language, serving as a precursor to the future evolution of Matrix Audio products.

Matrix Design
Evaluating audio products from the perspective of "listening" and "observing" has always been our consistent philosophy. From concept to design, every step reflects a love of music and the pursuit of beauty. The MA-1 is Matrix Audio's first Class AB power amplifier. Its industrial design showcases our concept of simplicity. With hundreds of circular perforations of varying sizes and depths arranged in a matrix on a simple hexahedron, they resemble rhythmic beats dancing and emerging from the surface.

They complement each other
The power amplifier serves as the backbone of the entire audio system, requiring comprehensive performance that excels in both dynamic and nuanced situations. It should swell with power during intense moments and delicately reveal subtleties with finesse. The MA-1 was designed for the MS-1 and MP-1, offering precise matching and tuning to ensure the entire system delivers exceptional audio performance and operating experience.

Parallel multi-triode push-pull output
To reduce output impedance, we used 10 high-power ONSEMI transistors in each channel to form a push-pull amplifier circuit, operating at a high bias current state. Static power consumption is up to 300W. At an 8-ohm load, it delivers 250W of output power per channel and 450W of output power per channel at a 4-ohm load.

Stereo mode

Each amplifier unit in an amplifier handles the left and right channels separately, every note is reproduced precisely on the stereo stage.

Bridged Mode

By combining two power amplifiers together, more powerful energy is released for your music, even speakers with demanding power requirements or low sensitivity will be driven effortlessly.

Mono Mode

Two amplifiers operate for each channel, pursuing more extreme sound quality. It provides an even more advanced drive mode for separate high-end speakers or bi-wiring speakers, unlocking the speaker's potential performance.

Adjustable gain

The amplifier has two gain levels. The normal gain is +30 dB, which can be attenuated to +24 dB. This allows the amplifier to be configured with different preamps and speakers.

Peak power
Independent transformers for the left and right channels enable a fully independent dual-channel design, with a total power supply of 1250 VA. The main power supply is ±80 V. Each channel is equipped with 14 6,800 µF capacitors connected in parallel, forming the main power filter capacitor array. The total capacitance of the capacitors for both channels reaches 190,000 µF. Compared to a single capacitor with the same capacitance, multiple capacitors in parallel have a lower equivalent internal resistance, providing greater flexibility in handling large current outputs.

Craftsmanship

The H-shaped structure is a unique design created by Matrix Audio for the M Series products, born from two years of continuous optimization and improvement, taking into account various aspects such as mechanical relationships, circuit layout, and external appearance. The 20mm CNC aluminum plate becomes the supporting structure of the entire device after dozens of processes, serving as the core of the H-shaped structure. All components are mounted on the aluminum plate, and the entire weight is supported by heavy-duty feet installed on the main beam, making it solid and stable. After the panels are installed, multiple cavities are formed that are isolated from the main beam. Different circuit modules are correctly positioned in each cavity, effectively reducing interference between the circuit modules. The circuit modules for the left and right channels are arranged symmetrically on both sides, creating a balanced visual impression. Silent cooling

The MCU continuously samples the temperature with two sensors on the main heatsink, constantly monitoring the heatsink temperature. When the temperature exceeds the preset value, an ultra-quiet 7.4" fan automatically turns on and dynamically adjusts the fan speed. It's difficult to notice the fan is running even when the device is at low volume or muted. The isolated duct design ensures there are no electronic components within the airflow path, preventing dust from accumulating during long-term operation.
