ONKYO ICON M-80 - Stereo Power Amplifier
Power the music that moves you
The Onkyo M-80 power amplifier uses a three-stage inverted Darlington amplifier. This three-stage inverted Darlington amplifier has a very low output impedance and powerfully drives speakers with high current. Furthermore, by keeping negative feedback (NFB) low, it is unaffected by additional noise from the speaker, delivering powerful yet highly resolving and information-rich sound. The M-80's output stage transistors are in a parallel configuration, providing excellent instantaneous current delivery capability, further enhancing the sound's lift and sense of power. The M-80's drive stage uses DIDRC (Dynamic Intermodulation Distortion Reduction Circuitry), which reduces noise in the ultra-high frequency range thanks to DIDRC's High Slew Rate Design and helps reproduce the natural sound of an analog record.
Cutting-edge components, immersive playback
The Onkyo M-80 power amplifier features a custom-designed high-current power supply to deliver dynamic, full-range sound and an extruded aluminum heat sink that suppresses vibration. The addition of high-quality 10,000 uF capacitors custom-made exclusively for Onkyo, Hi-Fi-quality terminals (both speaker output terminals and audio input terminals), copper bus bars, and a sturdy, vibration-damping front panel ensure powerful, world-class reproduction.
The M-80's enclosure is constructed of two aluminum side panels and a steel top panel. This three-piece structure increases rigidity and improves seismic resistance, resulting in improved overall audio quality.

Create your perfect system
The M-80 has an output power of 200 W (4 Ω, 1 kHz, THD 0.7%, 2 channels driven) / 150 W (8 Ω, 1 kHz, THD 0.7%, 2 channels driven), allowing it to powerfully drive large speakers and deliver dynamic acoustic information. For example, Klipsch Forte speakers paired with the P-80 and M-80 models would maximize the Forte's dynamics and sound extension.

FROM ONKYO ACADEMY: ADVANTAGES OF A POWER AMPLIFIER
A power amplifier receives the signal from the preamplifier and literally sends it to the speakers. Think of the preamplifier as the brains and the power amplifier as the muscles. Separating the amplifiers into preamplifiers and power amplifiers offers maximum flexibility in audio reproduction. Furthermore, because they are unaffected by each other's circuits, they can deliver high-resolution audio quality through even cleaner signal transmission. Audiophiles are known for their preference for specific power amplifiers, especially for how they affect the quality and coloration of the sound. The M-80 is a power amplifier that reproduces the full range of artists' intentions in their music and transports you to a world of emotion.
