DIDRC (Dynamic Intermodulation Distortion Reduction Circuitry)

Thanks to its patented DIDRC (Dynamic Intermodulation Distortion Reduction Circuitry), the Onkyo P-80 preamplifier delivers vivid yet smooth and comfortable sound from any music source. DIDRC is a discrete signal control circuit developed to make digital audio sources like CDs and music streaming services sound as natural as analog records. This technology has been further refined and is used in the P-80's analog filter, DAC, and phono amplifier circuits.

ESSENTIAL FOR DISTORTION-FREE SOUND

A fanless design that eliminates noise, a high-quality stereo DAC (32-bit/768kHz) that reduces distortion, and an extruded aluminum heatsink for vibration suppression: this preamp lays a solid foundation for superior sound.

STIFFNESS FOR SEISMIC RESISTANCE

The P-80's case is constructed of two aluminum side panels and a steel top panel. This three-piece structure increases rigidity and improves seismic resistance. The "oval frame" with oval molding lines reinforces the bottom surface and disperses vibrations for improved overall sound quality.

FURTHER DISTORTION REDUCTION

Hi-Fi-quality terminals, premium capacitors, and rigid front panels further reduce vibration and signal degradation. The P-80 has a phono circuit that is independent of the other circuits. The P-80 is compatible with both MM and MC cartridges. The MC circuit is discrete in design and accurately reproduces the output signal of a small MC cartridge without distortion.

The P-80 preamplifier has two independent subwoofer outputs that provide enough power to fully express the lowest tones in your music.
