Sophisticated and contemporary design

The essential character of the C3 Continuous Curved Cone™ is also reflected in the minimalist design of the 5000 Series, whose sophisticated yet contemporary lines recall the elegant form of the latest Concept speaker series. The front baffle panels are laminated with a layer of butyl rubber and a black acrylic finish, not only providing a dampening layer to suppress vibrations in the baffle, but also creating an attractive counterpoint to the aesthetically clean front presentation, uninterrupted by any fasteners.

midrange/woofer design

At the heart of the completely redesigned mid/woofer design is the C3 Continuous Curved Cone™. The cone geometry requires significant motor power for optimal performance. Large magnets are paired with large voice coils to increase motor power, resulting in a 50% increase in power handling and control compared to a comparable 1-inch voice coil driver. This results in improved dynamic range, especially in the bass range.

high frequency driver design

Based on the tweeter design principle of the latest Concept series, the tweeter is hermetically sealed and mechanically isolated from the (floating) baffle to prevent internal pressure modulation in the cabinet and adjacent midrange/woofer. The internal chamber is also carefully ventilated to reduce distortion and features a lower crossover point for seamless integration into the crossover section.

A true evolution in mid/woofer design elements, the C3 Continuous Curved Cone Profile™ is the result of extensive research and expert engineering to combine the bass performance benefits of a traditional straight cone diaphragm with the high/midrange control of a flared diaphragm.

By creating a unique, smooth, and continuous curved profile, the advantages are clear. Its excellent dispersion characteristics, combined with a well-controlled frequency response and low harmonic distortion, allow for smoother integration into the tweeter. Deep bass dynamics are also superior, as this, along with the tighter, more muted sound of the low frequencies, allows for greater flexibility in positioning the speakers close to the walls of the listening room.
