APHELION 2 is the third generation of Rega Moving Coil (MC) cartridges. Taking the technology developed in the very recent Apheta 2 to the next level, our designers have carefully analysed every aspect of the original design to create a new superior MC cartridge.

The Aphelion features a new boron cantilever and a new ultra-high power neodymium magnet with a meticulously hand-wound coil with an iron microcross that is half the size of the original. The weight reduction of the generator allows for greater ability to follow the record grooves ensuring even more detail is extracted from the vinyl.
The Aphelion is housed in a new one-piece black anodized aluminum body and protected by a CAD-designed hard transparent cover to shield the fine internal wires, making assembly safe and secure.
The Aphelion is the perfect companion to the RP10 turntable and RB2000 tonearm.

The hand-built Aphelion moving coil cartridge represents the highest level of micro-engineering and design. It took two years to develop this benchmark cartridge, guaranteed to extract more music from your vinyl than ever before.

To improve rigidity we have introduced a boron cantilever to improve tracking accuracy and performance. The stylus is a diamond with a “Vital” profile broken at 90° to improve mounting rigidity.
