The Brio MK7 is a hand-built, high-performance stereo integrated amplifier. The MK7 version of our best-selling amplifier is the most advanced and feature-rich Brio ever released. Our engineering team has completely redesigned the Brio circuitry, optimising it for performance and reducing distortion. Housed in a compact, custom-built, half-width aluminium case, the Brio MK7 delivers a massive 50W per channel into 8Ω and 72W per channel into 4Ω, enough power to drive even the most demanding speakers. The Brio MK7 now includes a built-in Rega-designed DAC with two digital inputs for greater flexibility with a wide range of other components. A new mini system remote control (for future compatibility) is supplied to activate the standby function, allowing the unit to be switched on and off via the remote.

A masterpiece of dynamics
Throughout the design process, the Brio MK7 has been meticulously refined in every aspect. From the quality of materials to the manufacturing process, it's the most advanced Brio to date. This compact amplifier includes a built-in Rega DAC, standby, auto standby, and thermal protection—all new features in this latest generation Brio. Connections extend to three line inputs and, of course, a phono input with a dedicated moving magnet phono stage for playing your latest vinyl. The latter benefits from improved isolation between stages within the amplifier and high-performance op-amps that provide gain for connected cartridges. The Brio's circuitry is often described as one of the most musically satisfying amplifiers in its class. You can expect even more refinement from the latest generation, and equally exceptional performance via the headphone output.

Redesigned circuit
Significant improvements have been made throughout the circuitry. The PCB layout has been completely updated to accommodate higher specifications for all critical components. A second power supply has been implemented to provide additional isolation between the output stage and the driver/line and phono amplifier stages. This improves isolation between the amplifier's high- and low-level signal stages. Higher-spec MUSES op-amps have been used in the line amplifiers, DACs, and phono stages.

Headphone jack
The Brio MK7 features an integrated circuit for driving standard hi-fi headphones from the internal amplifier. The headphone circuitry has been cleverly designed to minimize its impact on the main signal path, so as not to compromise overall audio quality. We paid particular attention to the switch that deactivates the main speakers once the front panel socket is in use.

Automatic standby
This unit features an auto standby function. After approximately 1 hour of no signal on the selected input, the unit automatically enters standby mode. This function can be disabled if necessary.

Thermal switch
If the amplifier reaches a temperature that could cause damage to the internal electronics, the thermal protection system will first turn off the speaker output, as indicated by the MUTE LED on the front panel lighting up and the INPUT LED going out.
If the overheat condition persists, the unit will automatically shut down.

Short circuit protection
If the speaker wires are shorted, fold-back short-circuit protection protects the output stage from excessive currents. This protection circuit is not placed in the audio signal path and therefore does not affect sound quality.
