Rega ND3 - Moving Magnet Cartridge for Turntables

The all-new Nd3 moving magnet cartridge has been in development for over 10 years and promises to deliver next-level performance thanks to moving magnet technology. We believe the Nd range (patent pending) is the world's first to use ultra-high-power neodymium magnets, allowing us to create this completely unique design.

Advanced technology
Each Nd3 is meticulously handcrafted by our highly skilled technicians. The stylus profile is a high-quality, elliptical-profile man-made polycrystalline diamond bonded to a round titanium shaft. The design uses a brand-new generator geometry with perfect symmetry to achieve accurate channel balancing. The Nd3 also features an optimised pole piece gap for superior linearity and crosstalk characteristics, delivering a much wider soundstage than previous models. This new cartridge features miniature parallel voice coils, wound internally using 38-micron wire with just 1275 turns. This produces a low-inductance, low-impedance generator, delivering significantly improved high-frequency response. In line with our commitment to sustainability, the Nd range is supplied in 100% recyclable packaging.

Nd magnet technology
Often used in moving coil designs (including our own), the Nd3 is believed to be the first moving coil to utilize an N55 neodymium (Nd) magnet. This is the world's strongest commercially available magnet and is a key component that makes this unique design possible, offering greater power than traditional bar magnets.

Glass-filled PPS body
The entire assembly is housed in our zero-tolerance, injection-molded, glass-filled polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) body, a lightweight and highly rigid material. A low-mass body reduces stress on the tonearm bearings and promotes freedom of movement, essential for accurate vinyl reproduction. This new body design was inspired by our highly successful MC range.

Cantilever and stylus profile
The Nd3's aluminum cantilever features a precision-bonded elliptical stylus. This profile offers exceptional tracking accuracy and extracts remarkable detail from the vinyl surface.

Factory fitted options
The Nd3 cartridge will be offered as a factory-fitted option on the Planar 2 and Planar 3 turntables, offering exceptional performance and value for these models. The factory-fitted package is offered at a discounted price compared to purchasing it separately; please ask your Rega dealer for further details.

Rega reconstruction scheme
Rega's unique pivot bearing design improves performance by eliminating the mechanical joint between the stylus housing and the main body. This significantly improves tracking ability and stylus stability. If you damage or wear your Rega cartridge, simply return it to your Rega dealer for a rebuilt cartridge with a new cantilever, stylus, and pivot bearing. Each rebuilt cartridge is thoroughly tested as if it were a new one. The rebuilt cartridge is sold at a discounted price once you trade in your worn or damaged cartridge, which is equivalent to a replacement stylus offered by other manufacturers.
