Rega ND7 - Moving Magnet Cartridge for Turntables

The all-new Nd7 moving magnet cartridge has been in development for over 10 years and promises to deliver next-level performance thanks to moving magnet technology. The patent-pending Nd range is the world's first to use ultra-high-power neodymium magnets in a moving magnet design, allowing us to create this completely unique design.

Top-level moving magnet
Each Nd7 is meticulously handcrafted by our highly skilled technicians. The Nd7 uses our most advanced "fine line" bare diamond profile for maximum detail rendition. (The same profile is used on our high-end MC models, the Apheta 3 and Aphelion 2.) This profile features an exceptionally small radius of the man-made monocrystalline diamond, with a smallest radius of just 3 µm (microns) when viewed from above and 30 µm vertically when viewed from the front. This profile allows for instant adaptation to very small variations in the vinyl due to the diamond's reduced contact area, resulting in exceptional levels of detail recovered. The design uses an all-new generator geometry with perfect symmetry to achieve extremely accurate channel balancing. The Nd7 also has an optimized polar gap for superior linearity and crosstalk characteristics, delivering a much wider soundstage than previous models. This new cartridge features miniature parallel coils, wound internally using 38-micron wire with just 1275 turns. This produces a low-inductance, low-impedance generator, offering significantly improved high-frequency response. In line with our commitment to sustainability, the Nd range is supplied in 100% recyclable packaging.

Nd magnet technology
Often used in moving coil designs (including ours), the Nd7 is the first moving magnet to utilize an N55 neodymium (Nd) magnet. This is the world's strongest commercially available magnet and is a key component that makes this unique design possible, offering greater power than traditional bar magnets.

Glass-filled PPS body
The entire assembly is housed in our zero-tolerance, injection-molded, glass-filled polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) body, a lightweight and highly rigid material. A low-mass body reduces stress on the tonearm bearings and promotes freedom of movement, essential for accurate vinyl reproduction. This new body design was inspired by our highly successful MC range.

Cantilever and stylus profile
The Nd7's aluminum cantilever features a precision, fine-line naked diamond stylus. This profile offers exceptional tracking accuracy and extracts greater levels of detail from the vinyl surface.

Factory fitted options
The Nd7 cartridge will be offered as a factory-fitted option on the award-winning Planar 6 and Planar 8 turntables. Designed specifically for these turntables, the Nd7 promises to bring out the best in your vinyl collection. Rega reconstruction scheme
Rega's unique pivot bearing design improves performance by eliminating the mechanical joint between the stylus housing and the main body. This significantly improves tracking ability and stylus stability. If you damage or wear out your Rega cartridge, simply return it to your Rega dealer for a rebuilt cartridge with a new cantilever, stylus, and pivot bearing. Each rebuilt cartridge is thoroughly tested as if it were a new one. The rebuilt cartridge is sold at a discounted price once you trade in the worn or damaged cartridge, which is equivalent to a replacement stylus offered by other manufacturers.
