Arm
The Planar 2 features the brand new RB220 tonearm with zero tolerance bearings to ensure minimal friction (Patent Pending), even more rigid vertical support and Rega armtube. The arm has been specifically designed for this turntable.
Pin
The Planar 2 has a new 11mm thick brass spindle (Rega designed) which offers better seating in the bearing well and less stress, this prevents unwanted vibrations being transferred to the sub-platter.
Base
The base with high gloss acrylic finish and the new position of the on/off switch make it even more elegant and easy to fit into any environment. Two finishes were proposed at the launch of the Planar 2: high gloss black and high gloss white.
Motor
New 24v motor with very low vibrations with a new assembly and a new electronic board.
Platter
New 10mm “Optiwhite” glass platter that guarantees greater rotation stability.
