Product Description
The heart of an uncompromising “audiophile” stereo system is the preamplifier. Separate components ensure the highest possible fidelity because each device is optimized for its role in the sound reproduction chain. The new RC-1572 stereo preamplifier is based on the design of our flagship RC-1590 preamplifier, featuring AKM 32-bit/768kHz stereo digital-to-analog converter to handle signal conversion. Among many improvements, the RC-1572 uses a switching relay for analog sources, rather than IC-based switching, to maintain the integrity of the signal path for the RCA, phono, and XLR inputs.

Beneath the clean lines and pleasing appearance of the RC-1572 lies highly sophisticated technology. Equal emphasis has been placed on both analogue and digital sources, as today's user often uses multiple digital sources, but also enjoys traditional formats such as vinyl LPs. A large toroidal transformer and regulated power supply provide stable current and voltage at all stages under dynamic conditions. The excellent circuit components were selected only after extensive listening evaluations. Careful routing of all low-level signals was undertaken to achieve an extraordinary signal-to-noise ratio. The result is fluid musical dynamics with extraordinary levels of detail and scale.

The RC-1572 stereo preamplifier is also extremely flexible. Four digital inputs (2 coaxial and 2 optical) and the rear PC-USB input handle digital sources up to 32/384 resolution. The 4 digital inputs are designed for sources such as a TV STB, flat screen TV or blue-ray player for superb playback. It is important to note that you can adjust the volume level of these sources and set an “auto-on” function with devices that have their own volume control, for convenient and practical use. The PC-USB input supports DSD signals. Bluetooth aptX is also included. Analogue inputs include balanced XLR connectors (perfect for connecting the RCD-1572 via its XLR outputs) as well as four pairs of conventional RCA inputs. A moving magnet phono stage rounds out the available sources. XLR and single-ended outputs are provided along with a mono subwoofer output, as well as two 12-volt triggers for controlling the on/off operation of an amplifier and/or other components. For custom integration, control options include RS232 on a standard DB9 connector, as well as an Ethernet port for IP control and software updates. In short, the RC-1572 offers great value for money and is the perfect upgrade for owners of older analog preamps.
