The powerful stereo amplifier
The large stereo amplifier takes even the most demanding speakers into previously unheard worlds of sound. With an amplifier output of 2 x 520 W (4 Ω) [2 x 550 W (2 Ω); 2 x 300 W (8 Ω)], this purely analog power amplifier playfully controls every speaker.

Thanks to VOLTAiR technology, the Performer s1200's performance is detailed, lively, honest and sounds musically exceptional.

Design individually
In addition to the basic color choice of black, red or silver, there are further options to adapt the Performer s1200 to individual design preferences.

With the black, red and silver decorative panels included in the delivery, a total of nine different colour combinations can be created.

The decorative panels stick using a powerful neodymium magnet. So no tools are needed to modify it.

Better safe than sorry
The Performer s1200 has a protection circuit against direct voltage and one against overheating.
If direct current (DC) voltage is detected, the output stage of the s1200 automatically switches off and the Protect LED lights up red.

To protect the Performer s1200 from the unlikely event of overheating, a temperature sensor on the heat sinks continuously monitors the temperature of the device.

The TEMP LED turns yellow when the Performer s1200 gets too hot. As a result, the output level is turned off and the fans spin at high speed to cool the device.

Free choice
The Performer s1200 has a stereo pair of XLR and RCA inputs. This means it is compatible with all commercially available preamps without the use of adapters. The corresponding stereo input can be selected using the Input Select switch on the rear.

Get in shape
In relation to the Performer s1200, “fit” – as in English – means adapted.
And you can adjust the input sensitivity in 0.5dB increments. From 0dB to -5.5dB.

Unlike a panorama potentiometer in a preamplifier, this is the audiophile solution for acoustically problematic rooms or speaker configurations. The optimum working range of the speakers and the preamplifier can also be ideally adjusted.

Strong connection
The speaker terminals can accommodate both banana plugs and stranded wire up to 4mm in diameter. This means that any common type of speaker wire can be used. However, we do not recommend connecting a speaker with an impedance of less than 2 ohms.

Activate me
The power amplifier standby mode can be activated and deactivated using the AMP CTL connection between an SPL Professional Fidelity preamplifier, such as the Director Mk2.

To do this, connect the 3.5 mm jack sockets with a cable with 3.5 mm mono or stereo jack plugs. Preamplifiers from other manufacturers can also activate and deactivate the Standby mode of the Performer s1200 thanks to its 12 V trigger input.

He plays in his own class
Conventional solid-state power amplifiers quickly work at the limits of the components used. This creates unsightly distortions. Tube power amplifiers also distort in this limit range, but this results in a somewhat softer sound.

Thanks to VOLTAiR technology, the Performer s1200 can process significantly higher levels than conventional solid-state or tube power amplifiers without distortion. All components operate continuously in the optimal working range. The result is a very pleasant, natural and relaxed sound experience. Enjoy your music in every detail, without listening fatigue.

Full speed ahead
In the Performer s1200, separate voltage and power amplification stages ensure a stable operating point of the amplifier circuit, which uses Class AB technology.

Thanks to their negative feedback path, feedback from the speaker to the input stage is also eliminated. This allows the SPL VOLTAiR technology to demonstrate its full performance.

Keep calm
Inside the Performer s1200, the six fans usually don't work at all, because 90 percent of the heat is dissipated passively via huge heat sinks.

If it gets very loud for a long time, the processor-controlled fans remain virtually inaudible at just 19 dB(A).

VOLTAiR Technology
120V Technology is our benchmark technology. It is unique in the audio industry worldwide because it operates with a DC voltage of 120 volts. This corresponds to four times the operating voltage of IC-based semiconductor op-amps. In our Professional Fidelity Series we refer to this unrivaled technology as VOLTAiR Technology.

The highest possible audio quality requires the highest possible audio operating voltage.
120V technology operates at +/- 60V. To handle such a high voltage, we have developed special proprietary op-amps that can operate at a DC voltage of +/- 60V: the SPL 120V SUPRA op-amps. This high voltage would destroy conventional components and op-amps.

120V technology achieves exceptional technical specifications and sonic advantages. Technically, in terms of dynamic range, signal-to-noise ratio and overload resistance. Sonically, in terms of richness of detail and absolutely relaxed listening pleasure.

By the way, the “120V” in the name of the technology has nothing to do with the local mains voltage of the socket. It is the operating voltage in the device with which the audio signals are processed.

The mains voltage of the socket is transformed into the required secondary voltage in the internal linear power supply of the device with a toroidal transformer. Rectifiers convert this AC voltage into the required DC voltages in the audio device.
