The Stax SRS-X1000 is a headphone listening system that combines the SR-X1 electrostatic headphones with the SRM-270S amplifier.

Stax SR-X1

The SR-X1 is an entry-level model that recreates traditional circular speakers while being electrostatic, with a modern design concept. Despite this design variation, the SR-X1 delivers a next-generation authentic electrostatic sound. It features a flat and neutral reproducibility, a characteristic of electrostatic speakers. Compared to previous models, the audio unit is mounted directly inside the cabinet, and the number of joints between parts is minimized to achieve precise and clear sound. The rear-slotted structure of the exterior is not uniformly thick, but gently curved. This shape allows sound waves to pass naturally outward, reducing distortion.

The metal materials used in the Stax SR-X1's chassis eliminate unnecessary vibrations. The rigidity of the headband assembly has also been improved. By actively adopting metal materials, the headband and earcups are integrated into a single unit, and the lightweight design prevents listening fatigue even after prolonged listening. The earpads are made of sheepskin, which is pleasant to the touch. The inner earcups are lined with memory foam for a better fit.

Stax SRM-270S

The SRM-270S features high-quality RCA pin jacks, a 3mm-thick aluminum front panel, and a larger extruded aluminum case for more effective heat dissipation. The design of the previous model (SRM-252S) has been updated for the SRS-X1000. The latest low-noise FET is selected for the first amplifier stage, and a follow-on circuit is installed in the output stage.
