Unison Unico Primo – 80W Stereo Integrated Amplifier
Unison Unico Primo is the 80-watt hybrid class-A integrated amplifier from the Treviso-based company, a leader in its category. Its elegant, modern yet handcrafted design embodies technological innovations and high- quality engineering . It features a hybrid circuit topology, boasting an ECC83 valve in the input stage and a dynamic class-A MOSFET. in the output section .
Unison Unico Primo is the entry-level 80W integrated stereo amplifier from the renowned Unico hybrid circuit line . Its solid construction, careful selection of materials and components, and meticulous assembly, combined with a stunning elegance thanks to two special finishes and perfect proportions, are all part of a traditionally artisanal approach that still reflects the origins of the Treviso-based company today.
The quality of this amplifier's design and the technological innovations contained in the designs of all Unico series integrated amplifiers are universally appreciated and recognized.
By concentrating all the experience, knowledge and also all the ambition, typical of Italian manufacturers, Unison Research has created a compact 80W Class A amplifier that embodies all the technology and passion typical of only a flagship product.
The Unison Unico Primo can be described as an incredible concentration of many of the concepts and technologies that most fascinate sound enthusiasts. This amplifier masterfully exemplifies the thinking of a brand for which purism in every area, not just sound, is little short of a lifestyle inscribed in its DNA. Compared to other models from the Italian brand , the Unico Primo is a seemingly unpretentious stereo integrated amplifier, but at the same time, with a very clear goal: to make the legendary musicality of the Treviso-based brand's tube products available to a greater number of users.
The Unison Unico Primo , with its 80 Watts of output , features all the power you would expect from a Class A MOSFET output, but at the same time with the sweetness of a Class A tube input stage. Furthermore, the use of a transistor output section gives it an additional point of precision and definition: the perfect synthesis of a hybrid tube architecture. Unison Research Unico Primo is an electronics with a hybrid circuit topology, therefore including both “solid state” devices, as a general rule characterised by a greater current delivery capacity and better control of the bass response , and their vacuum counterparts , which instead generally make the difference for a superior musicality (due to the pre-eminence, in their harmonic distortion rate, of those even-order harmonics that our brains like so much), mainly in the mid and, above all, high spectrum, as well as a quicker response thanks to its virtual absence of delays.
The best possible combination in a 100% High End project , where the quality/price ratio is also fundamental, is represented by the use of vacuum devices in the input section and solid state devices in the output section, exactly like in this Unison Unico Primo which features a double ECC83/12AX7 triode in the input stage and a dynamic class A MOSFET for the output section, a scheme that allows for improved signal handling power efficiency without penalising the sound. As for the power supply section, they have used a transformer (toroidal and encapsulated) and more powerful filter capacitors to improve dynamics , bass response and attack capacity . Unico Primo also includes a low impedance active stereo output for connecting a subwoofer , to which is added the possibility of converting one of the line inputs into a phono input by installing an optional RIAA card .
