Unison uPhono+ Connections

The Unison uPhono+ is an interesting product because it offers so many features at a very competitive price. First of all, it includes a phono stage with both MM and MC inputs . To select which of the two inputs to use, we find selectors on the bottom panel .

It is also possible to adjust the input impedance and gain . Finally, to take the vinyl listening experience to the next level, Unison Research has integrated the possibility of activating a subsonic filter . All switching options must be performed for both channels.

On the rear panel, in addition to the analogue inputs, there are also two analogue outputs , one fixed and one variable, and three digital outputs – optical, coaxial and USB – which, combined with the Logic CS534 Analogue/Digital converter , which offers up to a resolution of 24 bit 96 kHz , allow you to digitally record your favourite LPs using any music software and save them in high-resolution formats.

uPhono+: Design and Technologies

Unison uPhono+ , just like the other components in the Unico range, is available in two finishes: black or silver. On the front panel , made of brushed aluminum , in addition to the 6.3mm headphone jack output, we find the volume control in the center which acts on the fixed and variable outputs, as well as the headphone output.

Unlike many rivals, Unison Research has created an entirely analog circuitry for this model. To avoid interference from the digital circuits, the Italian brand has installed two separate linear power supplies : one for the analog section and one for the digital section. The UPhono does not require an external wall power supply.
