The new Dovedale further exemplifies Wharfedale's heritage in designing and manufacturing high-quality loudspeakers: balancing fine craftsmanship, natural sound quality and affordability within a beautifully proportioned loudspeaker that has been purchased in the millions around the world through its various incarnations.

A true classic

Dovedale has an unmistakable family resemblance. It is a three-way tabletop model, a rarity in the modern era, and retains similar proportions to classic Dovedale models of the past. Its wood veneer cabinet has a vintage feel, but the standard of finish is decidedly contemporary: a tribute to the skilled craftsmanship required to produce such a speaker.

The original Dovedale models, dating back to the W2 of 1959, updated to the W2/Dovedale in 1965, were well known for their rich, natural sound quality. The new model retains these characteristics but improves performance in every department, with free dynamics and incredible definition in the bass and midrange.

Dovedale signifies the reintroduction of the class and quality of British manufacturing into the Wharfedale brand portfolio.

Dovedale is built at the home of British Hi-Fi at Wharfedale’s UK headquarters in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire. Incorporating key manufacturing, assembly and finishing processes for specially selected products in addition to the R&D function already located there. A 9,000 sq ft manufacturing facility has been added to the existing building, including a new anechoic chamber, giving a total of 25,000 sq ft of office, laboratory and manufacturing space. It is here that Dovedale is manufactured by highly skilled and experienced loudspeaker experts.
