The current version of the Wharfedale LINTON, launched in 2019, has become one of the most successful speakers in the brand's history, winning numerous awards and winning over enthusiasts and critics alike. Part of the renowned Heritage Series, the LINTONs stand out for their extraordinary value, flawlessly combining design, construction, and acoustic performance.
Unlike the 1967 SUPER LINTONs, which relied primarily on cabinet improvements, the new SUPER LINTONs represent a quantum leap in every way. Without detracting from the existing LINTON, the SUPER LINTONs take engineering and performance to the next level, offering an upgrade option for existing LINTON owners and bridging the gap between the flagship DOVEDALE models, which are made in the UK.

Wharfedale Super Linton - ASK FOR COLOR AVAILABILITY
The new Wharfedale SUPER LINTONs represent a significant evolution for the brand, making a distinguished addition to the renowned Heritage range, one of the world’s best-selling models.
This new version is the result of a careful design review by the team led by Peter Comeau, Director of Acoustic Design. From the cabinets to the components and crossover, every element has been redesigned to create the new and improved Super Linton. Available in three finishes—Walnut, Mahogany, and the new Black Oak—the SUPER LINTONs combine elegance and unparalleled performance.
Continuing the original concept, the new SUPER LINTONs feature an enlarged cabinet featuring Wharfedale's proprietary sandwich design. This cabinet combines two layers of MDF with a layer of sound-absorbing glue, reducing resonances and improving overall acoustic performance.
8” (200mm) woven Kevlar woofer with a more powerful motor, capable of extending the low frequency response down to 32Hz. This ensures deep, punchy bass and a more impactful presence in the lower frequencies.
5” (135mm) midrange in woven Kevlar, placed in a renewed chamber with layers of long fibre that absorb unwanted rear waves, emphasizing the naturalness of voices and instruments.
1" (25mm) soft dome tweeter, constructed from a lightweight fabric dome and coated with damping material. This is supported by a ceramic magnet system that delivers smooth, detailed high frequencies. The new short horn profile ensures a uniform response, while the faceplate design improves sound dispersion, integrating seamlessly with the low- and mid-range drivers.
While retaining the aesthetic DNA of the LINTON, the SUPER LINTON features updated drivers and cabinet dimensions. They are 50mm taller than current models, but retain the same footprint and use the same stands as the LINTON, retaining the practical vinyl storage space.
