Yamaha's flagship 3D sound field reproduction technology was developed by combining actual measured sound field data with cutting-edge digital signal processing technology. The updated CINEMA DSP HD3 employs new signal processing algorithms to enhance the theatrical effect of sound, accurately reproducing a new dimension of realism for an immersive, seamless sound field. Using the front, center and surround speakers to simulate a virtual rear speaker, CINEMA DSP HD3 can reproduce up to 11.1 channels* from a 7.1-channel speaker configuration.

Dolby Atoms® with Height Virtualizer

For those without an in-ceiling or up-firing speaker system, Dolby Atmos with Height Virtualization simulates the Atmos “ceiling” experience using the front channels. Up to five speakers can reproduce the effects of two ceiling channels, while seven speakers can simulate the effects of four ceiling speakers.

It integrates the ES9026PRO DAC, a new flagship of the SABRE PRO Premier series of 32-bit DACs from ESS. ESS's patented 32-bit Hyper Stream and Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) compensation function help to keep noise levels low. Combined with Yamaha's proprietary DOPG (DAC On Pure Ground), which eliminates possible variations between audio circuit stages to reduce background noise, it dramatically improves silence and resolution across the entire sound spectrum for rich, expressive reproduction of even the most delicate sounds.

Foot with anti-resonance technology

Anti-Resonance Technology (ART) consists of a fifth foot placed in the center of the unit. Together with the double-bottom structure, it more effectively dampens vibrations generated by the transformer, transistors and heat sinks, as well as those transmitted by the sound emitted by the speakers, ensuring dynamic audio and more accurate and detailed reproduction.

Newly designed mechanical structure

The highly logical and symmetrical internal component layout and the completely new printed circuit boards are designed to ensure the shortest signal path on each circuit board. The new H-shaped cross frame improves the strength of the receiver body and improves sound stability, resulting in clearer, sharper and more transparent sound reproduction. In addition, the redesigned mechanical structure helps prevent vibration from spreading from the transformer to the amplifier circuit. Noise is reduced to improve sound clarity.

HDR10+*

HDR10+ processes the dynamic range (the ratio of light to dark) of video content scene by scene (or even frame by frame) using metadata that informs the brightness and black level characteristics of the scene, so that the most significant details are preserved. SCENE Buttons to Set Songs and Radio Stations

There are four SCENE buttons. You can set them for different inputs, as well as sound field programs, Music Enhancer, HDMI output, and more. The inputs can be assigned to specific sources, such as an FM or Internet radio station, a streaming service channel, a USB device, or a song on your PC or NAS (network). Once the buttons are configured, simply press one on the main unit or remote control to turn on the receiver and enjoy your desired music. The buttons can be reset at any time.

Multi-zone playback / Advanced HDMI Zone Switching

You can stream video or audio content (not only from the HDMI input, but also from other audio sources, such as digital or analog audio, network content, and FM/DAB radio) to a TV or home theater system in another room (Zone 2/4).
